Inquiry Week 10

For my last inquiry, I wanted to talk a little more about the traditional territory of the Líl̓wat nation that I grew up on apart from Tseshaht where my family originates from. The website for Líl̓wat https://lilwat.ca is very straight forward and easy to navigate. It holds tons of information about the culture, the history, the community, the people, the territory and more. I am not going to share the information that you could find for yourself on the website however I do want to share a little about the mountain in the first picture on their website because it is my all time favourite! This mountain is called Mount Currie or in other word “Ts̓zil”. This mountain is known for its size (2,596 metres or 8,517 feet high), it’s activity, history, looks and meaning. Ts̓zil (Mount Currie) has a very special place in my heart because to me it means home. Mount Currie/Ts̓zil means “Slides on the mountain” which speaks for itself considering it is a very active mountain that is always sliding in summer and in winter.

Here is one of my favourite pics of Mount Currie/Ts̓zil 🙂
