Hi! My name is Kiana Clutesi and I am from a small town called Pemberton, BC which is about 25 minutes north of Whistler, BC. I went to elementary school from grades K-7 and high school from grade 8-12 both in Pemberton 🙂 I was in French immersion from grade 5 to grade 12 and graduated with my double dogwood.
Growing up I was super into sports. I played or participated in soccer, volleyball, basketball, skiing, track and dragon boat for most of my childhood and high school years. And to this day I am still playing soccer and volleyball in intramural’s and skiing on the side:) I was raised by two ski bums so a huge thing in my life has always been skiing big mountain terrain. Growing up in the Sea to Sky, I did a lot of hiking, ski touring, camping, mountain biking, boating, fishing, and anything in the outdoors really! Being outside is my happy place still to this day and I am beyond grateful to have grown up in such a beautiful place surrounded by a rich landscape.
I decided to come into teaching because I have always been drawn to kids. I coached soccer ages 2-10 for 4 years, along with rep soccer ages 12-18 for 2 years. I was a camp leader for a canoe and paddle camp one summer. I was a ski school instructor for a season with 3-4 year olds and am still a private ski instructor for any ages when I’m home. I coached high school volleyball for 3 years and basketball for 2 years. And so that’s why I decided I want to teach!
I am beyond excited to have my own classroom one day to teach little humans! I love to see kids grow and to see them slowly become little adults!
